Chi-Square Flashcards

Q
Assumptions in Parametric Testing
A
A. The collected data is assumed to follow a normal
distribution (as collected by simple random sampling)
B. If 𝒙̅ and s are known and the distribution follows a normal curve, then there is a chance that future values of the variable can be known.
C. Use a non-parametric test, if the collected data is not
assumed to follow a normal distribution
2
Q
Most widely used in hypothesis testing (assumes H0 is true, and that we should not reject it)
- To test for goodness of fit (whether the observed sample frequencies differ significantly from expected frequencies)
- To determine significant association between two categorical variables from a single population
A
Chi-Square
3
Q
Observations are classified into blank with the sample data displayed in a contingency table
A
Mutually Exclusive Class
