Stable angina
A
- central chest pain
- worse with exertion
- better at rest
- Hx HTN
- SOB

MI
A
- squeezing chest pain
- radiates to left arm
- Hx HTN, hyperlipidemia and/or smoking
- SOB

Costochondritis
A
- stabbing chest pain
- worse with inspiration aka. PLEURITIC pain
- chest wall tenderness
- aspirin makes it better
- acute onset

Pericarditis
A
- stabbing pain aka. PLEURITIC (worse with inspiration)
- better when leaning forward, worse when lying down
- SOB
- radiate to neck and shoulders

Acute coronary syndrome
A
- acute onset
- SOB
- pain radiates to left shoulder

GERD
A
- burning sensation
- occurs with heavy meals
- worse when lying down
- antacids help

- Pleuritic chest pain
- fever
- recent travel or surgery
