France Vouvray AOC - Loire valley.
- Dry Vouvray AOC: fresh apple flavors
- off-dry/medium: Demi-sec
- sweeter style: extra ripe or botrytis: stone fruit or tropical fruit
typically unoaked to retain the fresh fruit characteristics
can age in bottle: honey and dried fruit

South Africa:

  • most widely planted grape variety
  • retain acidity in warm climate
  • often blended with chardonnay
  • dry/medium body peach, pineapple, sometimes vanilla from oak
  • old vines can produce very good quality
