A

The smallest unit of element. An atom has a central nucleus which is surrounded by one or more electrons.

Nucleus

A

Central part of the atom. Located in the centre of an atom. Composed of protons and neutrons. Most of the atoms mass is contained inside the nucleus. The rest of the atom weighs almost nothing.

It is a particle that is positively charged. Found within an atomic nucleus.
