Chemistry Flashcards
Decrease in pressure
Equilibrium shifts to side with more moles
Polar solvent
Dissolves ionic and polar
No polar solvent
Dissolves nonpolar. Symmetrical
Heat change temp change
Mass times change in temperature times specific heat
Heat change phase
Mass times latent heat
Boyles law
P1V1=P2V2
Changes in concentration
As the concentration increases the equilibrium will shift away from the substance to use it up
As the concentration decreases the equilibrium will shift towards that substance to make more of it
Changes in temperature
When temperature increases the equilibrium will shift away from the side with heat
When temperature decreases the equilibrium will shift towards the side with heat
Changes in volume
Decreasing the volume will cause the reaction to shift towards the less gas molecules
Increasing the volume will cause the reaction to shift where there’s more gas molecules
Increase in pressure
Equilibrium shifts to side with less moles
