Chemistry 1.1 investigation Flashcards

Q

Conclusion

A

The more concentrated the acid is, the less amount of time it took for the x to dissapear, this is call an increase in the rate of reaction. For this to happen two or more molecules had to collide which then acts as an activator for the colour change result.

Q

Discussion

A

The increase in concentrations in solution A establishes more particles in a total fixed volume.

Meaning that there are more particles than there were, and they are now closer together due to the fixed volume.

The more the rate of reaction increases, the more that the solution A collides with particles of solution B.

So the higher the concentration is, it reduces the time taken for successful collisions in order to increase the rate or reactions

Q

Validity

A

use a wide range of independent variables (20-80)

I controlled , , and , to ensure that the investigation was a fair test with only 1 variable changing
