14
Q

What is the mass of one mole of Silicon Carbide (SiC)

A

40.1 g

15
Q

What percent of Methane (CH4) is Hydrogen

A

25%

16
Q

What is the percent by mass of Carbon in Acetone C2H6O

A

62.1%

17
Q

The chemical formula of Asprin is C9H8O4, what’s the mass of .200 mol of Asprin

A

36.0 g

18
Q

Sodium Bromide Dihydrate is correctly written as

A

NaBr DOT 2 H20

19
Q

As a hydrated compound is heated, it decreases in

A

Mass

20
Q

What effect do temperature and relative humidity have on the color of the compound in the vial

A

When the vial is light blue it is dry and when it is pink the component has moisture in it making it change colors

21
Q

What can you infer from Lisa’s observation about the type of compound in the vial? Explain your reasoning

A

I can infer it is a hydrate because it starts as light blue which is dry and when it gets warm it dries back up again

22
Q

Equation Questions

A
  1. Take the Grams and x by 1 mol
  2. Divide that by each element’s molar mass (Number under element)
  3. Once you have done that for all, divide all the answers by the lowest answer
  4. Round the answers to the nearest whole
23
Q

Which chemical formula is a possible chemical formula for compound 2? Explain your reasoning. CoCl2 DOT 2H20 CoCl2 DOT 8H20

A

CoCl2 because if you were to estimate the numbers on the graph you would get mostly 1,2 and 3s for the charges. There couldn’t be that much Hydrogen and Oxygen because it starts with low numbers to begin with.
