- Divided - young want to change, old stuck in their ways

- Upper class presented as paranoid in fear of losing social status
- Upper class’ view of lower class is exaggerated and they believe in prejudices

- Conflict can be created through lies and hiding secrets, it is a consequence for trying to hyde secrets
- Upper class causes conflict for the lower class
