Q

What are the limitations for tripped circuit breakers?

A

A tripped circuit breaker may only be reset once. Allow approximately two minutes for cooling before resetting. And in-flight reset should only be accomplished if in the judgment of the captain, regaining the use of that system is critical to the safety of flight.

Fight crews must not reset tripped fuel quantity, fuel pump, or fuel pump control circuit breakers.

The flight deck crew should not cycle (pull and reset) a circuit breaker at any time unless the cycle meets one of more of the following criteria:

  • Directed by QRH
  • Directed by a procedure B737 AOM/FOM/MEL or Ops Binder.
  • Coordinated and approved by Mx.

In Flight:
The in flight reset of a tripped CB should only be accomplished when directed by QRH. Allow two minutes for cooling.

Q

What are some fuel limitations (four of them) while on the ground at the gate?

A

Wing tanks must be full if the center tank quantity is greater than 1,000lbs.

For ground operation, center tank fuel pump switches must not be positioned to on unless the center tank fuel quantity exceeds 1000 pounds, except one day fueling or transferring fuel.

Center tank fuel pumps must not be selected on unless personnel are available on the flight deck to monitor the low pressure lights.

Flight crews must not reset tripped fuel quantity, fuel pump, or fuel pump control circuit breakers.

Q

What are the TCAS limitations?

A

Must follow TA/RA according to QRH.

Pilots can deviate from ATC Clearances to the extent necessary to comply with RA.

Q

What are the fuel distribution limitations?

A

Main/wing tanks must be full if the center tank quantity is greater than 1000 pounds.

Use center tank to depletion followed by wing tank fuel.

1000 pounds may be retained in the center tank provided the effects of balance have been considered.

Center fuel tank pumps must be on for all operations with more than 1000 pounds of fuel in the center tank. Some MEL items can override this limitation.

Q

After starting, what are the limitations for engine stabilization?

A

Operate at idle, after rollback, for a minimum of two minutes on the NG, or three minutes on the MAX8 prior to applying takeoff thrust.

*Recommendation:On the first flight of the day operate engines at or near idle, after rollback, for a minimum of five minutes prior to applying takeoff thrust.

Q

What are the engine limitations for cool down after landing?

A

NG - operate engines at or near idle for a minimum of one minute prior to shut down. When operational conditions permit engines should be operated at or near idle for three minutes prior to shut down.

MAX - Operate engines at or near idle for a minimum of three minutes prior to shut down.

16
Q

What is the limitation for a circle to land approach maneuver?

A

Weather minimums are 1000 foot ceiling and 3 miles visibility, unless charted minimums are higher.

17
Q

What is the maximum altitude for operate in the APU bleed air only?

A

17,000feet

18
Q

What is the limitation for operating on one generator while on the ground?

A

On the ground, limit one generator (engine driven) operation to a maximum of 215 AMPS.

19
Q

What is the maximum altitude for operate in the APU?

A

41,000 feet.

20
Q

What is the EGT limitation for ground start?

A

NG - 725°C
MAX - redline.

The EEC will shut the engine down if it senses and impending hot start. However, it may not get it shut down before redline so the crew must be vigilant.

21
Q

What is the maximum altitude for operating the APU bleed air and electric?

A

10,000 feet.

22
Q

You are ready for takeoff, you have 900 pounds of fuel in the center tank, what position should your center fuel pump switch is be in?

A

They should both be off.

23
Q

How long after IRS shut down do you have to wait before removing AC power?

A

Do not remove AC power from the aircraft for at least 30 seconds after IRS shut down.

24
Q

What is the checked limitation on thrust reversers?

A

Reverse thrust is for ground use only.

25
Q

What is the limitation on the alternate flaps?

A

Alternate flap duty cycle in flight is one complete cycle, then five minutes off. A complete cycle is movement from position 0 to 15 and back to zero. The AlterNate flap switch must be in the off position for 15 seconds before reversing the direction of flap movement.

26
Q

What is the limitation for the cargo bay fire suppression system?

A

Aircraft must land within 60 minutes of initial discharge of the fire suppression system. (MAX 8E and 8E 180 minutes).

27
Q

When must the center tank fuel pumps be turned off?

A

Corresponding center tank fuel pump switch must be positioned to off when a center tank low pressure light illuminates.

For ground operation, center tank fuel pump switches must not be positioned on unless the center tank fuel quantity exceeds 1000 pounds, except when Fe fueling or transferring fuel.

28
Q

You are ready for takeoff, you have 1500 pounds of fuel in the center tank, what position should your center fuel pump switches be in?

A

They should both be on.
