Q

What is the limitation on alternate flaps?

A

alternate flap duty cycle in flight is one complete cycle, then 5 minutes off. A complete cycle is movement from position 0 to 15 and back to 0. The alternate flap switch must be in the OFF position for 15 seconds before reversing the direction of flap movement.

Q

What are the TCAS limitations?

A

flight crews must immediately respond to TCAS information (both TAs and RAs) by using the TCAS (traffic avoidance) guidelines located in the QRH maneuvers chapter.
Pilots are authorized to deviate from an ATC clearance to the extent necessary to comply with the TCAS II RA

Q

What is the limitation for a circle to land approach maneuver?

A

weather minimums are a 1000ft ceiling and 3 miles visibility. Both ceiling and visibility criteria are required. Review the Jeppesen approach chart to see if it specifies higher mins greater than 1000/3. If so, then those higher mins are required. Use a minimum decent altitude (MDA) of 1000ft above airport elevation restricted to a higher altitude in the circle-to-land mins on the approach chart.

Q

After starting, what are the limitations for engine stabilization?

A

operate engines at or near idle, after rollback, for a MINIMUM of 2 min (NG) or 3 min (MAX8) prior to applying takeoff thrust.
*recommendation: on the 1st flight of the day, operate engines at or near idle, after rollback, for a minimum of 5 min propr to applying takeoff thrust

16
Q

What is the limitation for operating on one generator while on the ground?

A

limit operation of one engine driven generator to a maximum of 215 amps

17
Q

What are the speedbrake limitations?

A

Do not use below 1000AGL.
In flight, do not extend lever beyond the flight detent.
in flight, do not use with greater than flaps 10.

18
Q

How long after IRS shutdown do you have to wait before removing AC power?

A

30 seconds

19
Q

What is the maximum altitude for operating the APU BLEED AIR ONLY?

A

17,000ft

20
Q

What is the maximum altitude for operating the APU ELECTRIC ONLY?

A

41,000ft

21
Q

What is the fuel distribution limitaion?

A

main wing tanks must be full if the center tank quantity is greater than 1000lbs.
use center tank to depletion followed by wing tank fuel.
1000lbs may be retained in the center tank provided the effects of balance have been considered.
Center tank fuel pumps must be ON for all operations with more than 1000lbs of fuel in the center tank (some MEL items can override this limitation).

22
Q

What is the maximum operating pressure altitude for the NG and MAX?

A

41,000ft

23
Q

What are some fuel limitations (4 of them) while on the ground at the gate?

A
  1. main wing tanks must be full if the center tank quantity is greater than 1000lbs
  2. for ground operation, center tank fuel pump switches must NOT be positioned to ON unless the center tank fuel quantity exceeds 1000lbs, except when defueling or transferring fuel
  3. center tank fuel pumps must not be selected on unless personnel are available in the flight deck to monitor the low pressure lights.
  4. flight crews must not reset tripped fuel quantity, fuel pump or fuel pump control circuit breakers
24
Q

Other than the speed limitations, what is the limitation on the use of normal flaps?

A

do not extend flaps above 20,000ft pressure altitude.

25
Q

What are the engine limitations for cool down after landing?

A

NG- operate engines at or near idle for a MINIMUM of one min prior to shut down.
*Recommendation (NG): when operational conditions permit, engines should be at or near idle for 3 min prior to shutdown.
MAX- Operate engines at or near idle for a minimum of 3 min prior to shutdown.

26
Q

When must the center tank fuel pumps be turned off?

A

when a center tank LOW PRESSURE light illuminates.
For ground operation, center tank fuel pump switches must not be positioned to ON unless the center tank fuel quantity exceeds 1000lbs, except when defueling or transferring fuel.

27
Q

What is the EGT limitation for ground start?

A

NG- 725C
Max-redline
The EEG with shut down if it senses and impending hot start. However, it may not get it shut down before redline so the crew must be viginant.

28
Q

What are the limitations for tripped circuit breakers?

A

may only be reset once. allow appx 2 min for cooling before resetting. an inflight reset should only be done if in the judgement of the Captain, regaining use of that system is critical to the safe conduct of flight.
DO NOT reset tripped fuel quantity, fuel pump or fuel pump control breakers.
Do not pull and reset a breaker at any time unless:
Directed by the QRH.
Directed by a procedure listed in the AOM, FOM MEL or operations binder.
Coordinated and approved by Mx.
IN FLIGHT: reset only when directed by QRH. Allow appx 2 min for cooling before resetting.
