Checked Limitations Flashcards

1
Q

What are the weather minimums for a Circle-to-land approach maneuver?

A

Weather minimums are a 1000 ft ceiling and 3 miles visibility. Both ceiling and visibility criteria are required. Review the Jeppesen Approach chart to see if it specifies minimums higher than 1000/3. If so, then those higher minimums are required to execute the circle-to-land approach maneuver.q

Q

When should you not operate the Air conditioning packs in HIGH?

A

With engine bleed air switches ON, do not operate the air conditioning packs in HIGH for takeoff, approach, or landing.

NOTE: The Fire Protection non-normal procedures (QRH) take precedence over the statement regarding no air conditioning packs in HIGH during takeoff, approach, or landing. The CARGO FIRE and Smoke or Fumes Removal checklists require the operating pack switch(es) to be placed in HIGH in order to increase ventilation for smoke removal.

Q

Circuit Breakers. Inflight reset limitation

A

The in-flight reset of a tripped circuit breaker should only be accomplished when directed by the QRH. Allow approximately two minutes for cooling before resetting.

13
Q

Resetting a tripped circuit breaker other than when directed by the QRH must be done as follows:

A

A tripped circuit breaker may only be reset once. Allow approximately two minutes for cooling before resetting. An in-flight reset should only be accomplished if, in the judgment of the Captain, regaining use of that system is critical to the safe conduct of the flight.

22
Q

Do not extend flaps above _____ ft pressure altitude

A

20,000 FT

23
Q

Alternate flap duty cycle limitation

A

Alternate flap duty cycle in flight is one complete cycle, then 5 minutes off. A complete cycle is movement from position 0 to 15 and back to 0. The ALTERNATE FLAP position switch must be in the OFF position for 15 seconds before reversing the direction of flap movement.

24
Q

In flight, do not extend the speedbrake lever beyond the______

A

flight detent

25
Q

Do not use speedbrakes in flight below _____ AGL

A

1000 AGL

26
Q

In flight, do not use speed brake with flaps greater than __

A

10

27
Q

-700 W Speed Brake Wing Load Alleviation system limitation

A

Do not operate the aircraft at speeds in excess of 320 knots at weights over 143,000 lb if the speedbrake wing load alleviation system is inoperative.

28
Q

Max Fuel Tank Temperature

A

49 C

29
Q

Min fuel tank temperature

A

-37C
Note: Jet A freeze point is -40C and other listed fuels freeze at lower temperatures.

30
Q

Main tanks must be full if the center fuel tank quantity is greater than

A

1000 lbs.
NOTE: 1000 pounds may be retained in the center tank provided the effects of balance have been considered
NOTE: Center tank fuel pumps must be ON for all operations with more than 1000 pounds of fuel in the center tank
NOTE: some MEL items can override this limitation

31
Q

For ground operation, when may center tank fuel pump switches be positioned to ON?

A

For ground operation, center tank fuel pump switches must not be positioned to ON unless the center tank fuel quantity exceeds 1000 lbs, except when defueling or transferring fuel.
NOTE: Fuel may be transferred from tank to tank or the aircraft may be defueled with Passengers onboard, provided the fuel quanityt in the tank from which fuel is being taken is maintained at not less than 2000 lb. Deplane all passengers and non-essential crew members when defueling a tank or transferring fuel from a tank that has a fuel quantity below 200 lb until the process has been completed and the respective fuel boost pumps are turned off.

32
Q

Corresponding center tank fuel pump switch must be positioned to OFF when?

A

Corresponding center tank fuel pump switch must be positioned to OFF when a center tank LOW PRESSURE light illuminates.

NOTE: When on the ground, if the center tank fuel pump LOW PRESSURE light illuminates with useable fuel greater than 1000 lbs in the center tank, refer to 16.12.6 Center Tank Fuel Pump LOW PRESSURE light illuminated on the ground

NOTE: When established in level flight attitude, both center tank pump switches should be positioned ON again if the center tank contains useable fuel.

NOTE: If the center tank is empty, both center tank fuel pump switches must be positioned OFF when the first center tank fuel pump LOW PRESSURE light illuminates.

33
Q

Center tank fuel pumps must not be ON unless personnel are available on the flight deck to do what?

A

Center tank fuel pumps must not be ON unless personnel are available on the flight deck to monitor the low pressure lights.

34
Q

Can flight deck crews reset a tripped fuel CB?

A

Flight Deck Crews must not reset tripped fuel quantity indicator, fuel pump, or fuel pump control circuit breakers.

35
Q

Cargo Bay Fire Suppression Limitation

A

Aircraft must land within 60 minutes (8E and MAX8E: 180 minutes) of initial discharge of the fire suppression system.

36
Q

TCAS: What must flight crews do when they get a TA or RA?

A

Flight crews must immediately respond to TCAS information (both TAs and RAs) by using the TCAS (traffic avoidance) guidelines located in AOM Chapter 5. 18 Non normal maneuvers

37
Q

TCAS: pilot authorizations

A

Pilots are authorized to deviate from an ATC clearance to the extent necessary to complete with the TCAS II Resolution Advisory
