What is endorsement? (Aka reciprocity and equivalency)
When a state recognizes the certificate, license, or registration made by another state.
When your application to working in another state is reviewed, what are the 3 possible outcomes?
-You’re application is accepted or rejected.
-Have to take the NATCEP competency test. (Written and/or skills test)
-Having to redo the entire program. (Class and competency test)
Who supervises a CNA?
Licensed Nurses.
What is a Nursing Task?
Nurse care, function, procedure, skill, or activity.
Should you give drugs?
No
Should you insert or remove tubes?
No
Should you take orders from doctors?
No
Should you tell the diagnosis of a patient, even if you know it?
No
Should you supervise other CNA’s?
No
Should you ignore a request or order?
No
Who can delegate to who?
APRN -> RN’s, LPN/LVN, CNA’s
RN -> LPN/LVN, CNA’s
LPN/LVN -> CNA’S (If allowed by NPA)
A patient begins having trouble swallowing. The nurse decides not to delegate feeding to you anymore. Why?
