What are the 6 sextants when measuring BPE

How is a BPE done
A peridontal probe is introduced to the gingical sulcus and light pressure is used around the buccal and ligual/palatal surfaces.
What does a 0 on BPE mean
no bleeding, no calculus or overhangs and healthy peridontal tissues. Pockets are less than 3.5mm and the first band is completely visible
What does a 1 on BPE mean
similar to a 0 but with a little bleeding. The first band is completely visible and pockets are less than 3.5mm. No calculus or overhangs.
What does a 2 on BPE mean
First band is is completely visible and pockets are less than 3.5mm. Theere is a little supra or subgingival calculus or plaque retention.
What does a 3 on BPE mean
First band is partially visible and pockets are between 3.5 and 5.5mm.
