Q

What is the significance of Macbeths actions against the traitor at the begging of the play?

A

When he beheads the Kings enemy he is at his moral peak as this enemy is essentially gods enemy regarding the idea of the divine right of kings. however when he commits treason and looses all virtue Shakespeare uses the motif of the head to depict the negative consequences as the head foreshadows Macbeths own fate , highlighting the use of circular structure and Macbeths lack of progress regarding his thirst for power as he ends up being the thing he sought to defeat in the beginning of the play
