Pashtun/German boy who bullies Amir and Hassan, rapes Hassan and becomes a leader in the Taliban
Mother names Tanya, and she is the German one
General Iqbal Taheri
Soraya’s father, a decorated general in Kabul who worked for the Ministry of Defense, and when he got to America didn’t want to work because he believed the jobs he could get would be too low for him, and would wait until Afghanistan took him back to work and provide for his family.
Farid
taxicab driver who drives Amir to Kabal, man who rescues Amir from Assef and stays with him until Amir goes to Islamabad
Kamal
boy who dies trying to escape in a fuel tank, father shoots himself afterwards, and a boy who was a bystander while Hassan was being assaulted
Khala Jamila
Soraya’s mother, always complaining about made-up illnesses, silenced after her husband goes through a series of medical emergencies. Other name is Khanum Taheri, loves to sing but her husband tells her not to because it is an act for poor people, and they aren’t poor.
Omar Faisal
Immigration lawyer who tells Amir there is very slim chance on him adopting Sohrab
Rahim Khan
Baba’s friend and business partner. He is a mentor to Amir and offers him a way to “be good again” by finding Sohrab a new family.
Sohrab
Son of Hassan, sexually and physically assaulted by Assef, orphaned at the age of 10. Adopte son of Amir and Soraya.
Soraya Taheri
Amir’s wife, they meet at the flee market
Sanaubar
Hassan’s mother, returns once Hassan moves into the hut net to Baba’s house when she know’s she’s dying and wants to spend time with the child/grandchild that she neglected
Wali
A boy that’s friends/scared of Assef that helps him rape Hassan
