King Duncan
King of Scotland, often described as old, gracious, pious (religious).
He is somewhat to trusting as he put his trust in two thanes of Cawdor (within space of few days).
Does not fight on the front line himself (leaves this duty to others), he is nevertheless quite prepared to pronounce sentence of death on traitors.
He promises to improve the fortunes of his victorious generals Banquo and Macbeth just before announcing Malcom as his heir.
He resembled Lady Macbeth’s father in his sleep.
Malcom
Duncan’s eldest son. Is almost captured in the battle during the beginning of the play but is rescued by the captain.
Names prince of Cumberland and heir to Duncan’s throne.
Banquo
thane of lochaber, another general in Duncan’s army, Macbeth’s best friend.
noble - protects son, doesnt involve himself in murder plot,
