Who is Ralph?
He is a Natural leader, Learns as he goes, Believes in good, Has priorities, he is humble, show some ideal of leadership, survives, The largest and physical boy. He represents law, Government and civilized society
Who is Jack?
He is a natural leader but driven by power and control, He is the leader of the hunters, Loves to hunt and kill, gets angry when he doesn’t get his ways, his leadership is built on fear,he manipulates the boys fear for power , he is militant, Presented as a bully. He represents Dominance and power.
Who is Piggy?
He is intelligent, he is physically weak because he’s fat,he isn’t a leader but helps Ralph, He is ignored and ridiculed by the other boys, he is the only boy who remains the same throughout the novel, he is devoted to the conch and to law and order. He represents Science and rationality
Who is Simon?
He is the quietest among the group, he is misunderstood by the other boys, he helps Ralph build shelters and picks fruit for the littleluns, he fits and faints are indicative as a spiritualist, represent Jesus, Knows the true understanding of the beast, he is mistaken to be the beast. Represents Religion and spirituality.
Who is Rodger?
He is secretive and sinister, A bully, he throws stones at the littleluns, causes Piggy’s death and destruction of the Conch, he makes jack’s leadership stronger through violence and fear. Represents Sadism.
Who are the littleluns?
Not easy to distinguish. They are fearful, terrified of the beast and just want to play. Represent: everyday people who are manipulated by leaders
