two-dimensional in that they are relatively uncomplicated and do not change throughout the course of a work.

a type of character used in fictional media that is instantly recognizable to audiences
Direct characterization
a method of describing the character in a straightforward manner
Indirect characterization
a type of literary device that reveals details about a character without stating them explicitly
