A novel that explores the maturation of the protagonist.

What is round characters?
A person depicted in a narrative.
What is flat characters?
One that lacs complexity in several facets.
What is foil?
A contrasting character who allows the protagonist to stand out more distinctly.
What are stock characters?
May provide a comic relief or prevent the author from having to explain their traits.
What is direct characterization?
When the author explicitly tells the reader what he or she wants us to learn.
What is indirect characterization?
Revealing a characters traits through actions and thoughts.
