[Love] does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth.

19
Q

You shall not covet your neighbor’s house.

A

In the Ninth Commandment God forbids every sinful desire for our neighbor’s property or home.

21

You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his cattle, nor anything that is his.

Inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.

27
Q

1 Timothy 6:9-10:

A

But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

28
Q

Conclusion

What does God Say about these Commandments?

A

I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me, and showing mercy to thousands of those who love Me and keep My commandments.

29
Q

What does this mean?

A

God threatens to punish all who transgress these commandments. Therefore we should fear His wrath and do nothing against these commandments. But he promises grace for every blessing to all who keep these commandments. Therefore we should also love and trust in Him and willing do according to His Commandments.

30
Q

What is sin?

A

Sin is everything that is contrary to the commandments of God.

31
Q

Romans 5:12:

A

Through on man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned.

32
Q

What is “original sin”?

A

Original sin is the total corruption of our whole human nature, inherited from our first parents, which makes us inclined only to evil and unable and unwilling to do that which is good.

33
Q

Psalm 51:5:

A

Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me.

34
Q

Matthew 5:48:

A

Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

35
Q

A

The wages of sin is death.

A

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

By the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight.

38

A

We are saved through faith in Jesus Christ alone, who fulfilled the law for us and died for us. We call this saving truth the Gospel.

39
Q

Romans 3:28:

A

We conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.
