God is the author of Scripture because he inspired the human authors through Divine Inspiration. This makes Scripture inerrant because God cannot lie to us.

scripture grew up in the church, the writers wanted their writings to be read in the church and the church decided which books are scripture

The bible is always true. It is not meant to be a science or a history book though. You must know what kind of writing you are reading to know the truth the author wanted to teach
