Why is following the chain of command important?
the chain of command describes the line of authority and helps to make sure that residents get proper health care. It also protects employees and employers from liability, so it is important that they (NAs) don’t harm residents or involve themselves or their employers in lawsuits.
Nursing process- what are the steps?

- diagnosis: identify health problems after looking at all the resident’s needs
- Planning: setting goals and creating a care plan in accordance with the resident’s preferences to meet the resident’s needs
- implementation: putting the care plan into action giving care
- evaluation: a careful examination to see if the goals were met or progress was achieved
1 question on time management
Manage time:
- Plan ahead
- prioritize: identify the most important tasks to get done and do these first
- make a schedule: write out the hours of the day and fill in what needs to be done and when. this allows for a realistic schedule
- combine activities: nursing assistants can visit with residents while providing care, which combines two important tasks. work more efficiently whenever possible
- get help: sometimes the NA’s will need help to ensure a resident’s safety, and they should not be afraid to ask for help.

the knowledge of right and wrong, an ethical person has a sense of duty and responsibility towards others. Laws tell people what they must do, help people live peacefully together, and ensure order and safety
