Purpose of Shannon Weaver’s Model of Communication
Change the way you deliver a message so it can be received properly. Interpersonal noise is the noise within.
There are different channels, Singular which is verbal and that makes up 7% of our communication. The remainder is non verbal; dress, smell and look.

Affection: Show that we’re listening, ask questions, comment (don’t be a stage hog) Skin hunger- to the need for physical affection. Lose ability to think logically.
Inclusion: The need to feel/ be belonged, a part of a gang, “I belong to El Camino” pride of ownership.
Control: If someone doesn’t know they’re in control of their life, they’ll be out of balance.
Fight your nature, get over it!! Higher calling.
Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs
Step 1 Physiological Needs: Air, water, food, shelter, sleep, etc
Step 2: Safety and Security
Step 3: Love and Belonging;to be loved.
Step 4: Esteem low and high must be earned.
Step 5 Self Actualization Aesthetics Knowledge and Understanding Transcendence to self : Giving from their overflow, Achieve–happy– content– self peace being all they own.
