Incongruence Theory:

eg. mature workers prefer self direction, but theory says the current traditional org structure does not promote that.

  • money, status, relationship w manager, company policies, and working conditions
  • satisfaction factors are NOT long term.

There are 5 motivation factors:

  • achievement, recognition, enjoyment of work, possibility of promotion, and responsibility.
  • motivation factors ARE LONG TERM.
