Magma Chamber
Is where the magma collects below the surface
Pipe
A long tube that extends from Earth’s crust up through the top of the volcano and it connects to the magma chamber which makes it so that magma can get to the surface.
Vent
Is an opening that gases leave the volcanoes
Lava flow
Is the spread of lava as it comes out of the volcano
Crater
Is a bowl shaped area that may form at the top of a volcano around the central vent.
Silica
Is a material that’s found in magma that forms from the elements oxygen and silicon
Pyroclastic flow
Is the mixture of hot gases, ash, cinders, and bombs that flow down the sides of a volcano when it erupts explosively
Dormant
A volcano that scientists think will become active in he future
Extinct
A volcano that is most likely to erupt ever again
