Q

What are the 2 steps of goal analysis?

A
  1. Classify goal statement by its domain ( ie. verbal, intellectual, psycho-motor, attitude, cognitive). 2. identify and sequence major steps to accomplish goal. l p. 40

Q

What information does the attitude domain contain?

A

Attitude is an internal state which impacts someone’s choices regarding objects, persons or events. These are specifically related to behaviors. For example, choosing to visit a museum or writing a letter to a senator.

Q

What information is contained in the cognitive strategies domain?

A

Internal process whereby the learner controls his/her own ways of thinking and learning (for Dick and Carey this falls into the Intellectual skills bucket under ill-defined problem solving. Ex: having learner construct a mental model of a problem, self-testing to know how much study is required.

Q

How do you determine how much content can be included in each step of the goal analysis? (pg. 45)

A

This depends on your learner. If steps are for younger students or older students who have not learned how to learn than steps are smaller.

Q

How is the analysis of verbal information different from that of intellectual skills or pyschomotor skills?

A

You begin by thinking: “What will learners be doing?” In most cases learners will be taking a test and answering questions there is no sequencing or problem solving involved. Boxes are used to indicate major topics and no arrows are needed.
