Chapter Three Flashcards
If you need to find the number of moles what should you do?
Divide the given in grams by the elements average mass.
When you want the mass of moles in grams you do what?
Multiply the given amount of moles by the mass of the element.
When finding out how many atoms are in an element how do you solve?
Take the given mass of an element in grams and divide by the elements average mass, then you multiply that by Avogadro’s number.
When converting the mass of a compound to moles what to do?
You divide the given in grams by the molecular mass of the compound.
If you want the mass of moles in grams how would you do that?
Take the given moles and multiply by the compounds molar mass.
When trying to convert the molar mass of a compound to atoms how can you do that.
Take the molar mass of the compound in grams and divide by the given grams, after that multiply by Avogadro’s number.
