Alert describes a persons normal level of consciousness.
Oriented relates to a person’s awareness of his or her name, the time and the location.

A
These persons are mildly to severely confused and disoriented; this may be a short term or long term problem.

A
Respite means rest or relief ; the person living at home goes to a nursing center for a short stay.
