SHORT ANSWER: the difference between direct & representative democracy

A

Direct: used in the early democracies where Ancient Greek citizens had to vote on every law that was to be made. Used best with societies with less people.

Representative: used in modern democracies where people/citizens elect government representatives that have the authority to make decisions and pass laws. It is used with societies that have lots of people.
