- He helped Rassendyll by pushing a chair into Detchard as he was fighting. This made him lose his balance and fall over the doctor‘s body. Then it was easy for Rassendyll to kill him.

- Detchard struck the King hard with his sword.

- Detchard would have killed Rassendyll because he was a much better swordsman than him.

- Because Fritz came with a gun and Rupert knew he couldn‘t fight both of them.

- He quickly jumped into the water below the bridge.

- He jumped out of the window down into the moat below and swam away.
