When a past experience affects how you react to a stimulus in the future.
Procrastination
Putting off work for a later time because we feel that we will have a better mindset about the work later.
Availability Heuristic
(What You See Is All There Is) You believe something is true just because you have seen an example of it rather than believing something that has facts/statistics to back it up.
Normalcy Bias
A common reaction to a tragic or potentially tragic situation where people act as if everything is normal.
Public Goods Game
When people cheat the system because they do not want to feel like a sucker.
Introspection Bias
You don’t know why you feel a certain way or why you believe something to be true.
Bystander Effect
When someone is hurt or in need the people around them will not help because they believe someone else will.
Dunning-Kruger Affect
Being unable to estimate your own abilities.
Just-World Fallacy
People believe the world is a just place because they have not experienced it enough.
Group Think
People work in a group and want to reach a consensus and therefore avoid confrontation which hinders progress.
Self-Serving Bias
You believe yourself to be more successful and smart than you really are because you excuse your failures and only look at your successes.
Social Loafing
Once you are part of a group, you tend to put in less effort because you know your work will be added to everyone else’s in the end.
Learned Helplessness
If you feel like you aren’t in control of your destiny, you will give up and accept whatever situation you are in.
Extinction Burst
Any time you quit something cold turkey, your brain will make a last-ditch effort to return you to your habit.
