Privacy and Data Protection Act of 2014
(State)
The PDPA is intended to strengthen the protection of personal information
and other data held by Victorian government agencies, including local
councils and contractors working for the state government.
Health Records Act of 2001 (State)
- Allows people to access their own medical information.
- Protects confidentiality of patients’ health care information by only
allowing the information to be used for its primary purpose.

- It is a federal law that protects the creator of original work from
unauthorised reproduction, conversion, adaption, transmission, or
publication of their intellectual property.
