Converse Pythag. Thm.
C2 = a2 + b2 (right)
C2 < a2 + b2 (acute)
C2 > a2 + b2 (obtuse)
For a 45, 45, 90 Triangle…
Leg, Leg, and Leg√ 2
x, x, and x√ 2
For a 30, 60, 90 Triangle…
Small side - X
Medium side - x√ 3
Large side - 2x
Right Triangle Thm
When an altitude is drawn to the hypotenuse of a right triangle, the two triangles formed are similar to the original triangle and each other.
Geometric Mean Theorem
Altitude squared = Piece one of hypotenuse * Piece two of hypotenuse
Leg Mean Theorem
Side squared = piece of hypotenuse that the side touches * the whole hypotenuse
How to write Similar Triangles
Write the big triangle twice
Write overlapping angle first
Then right angle
Finally, the remaining angle
The last line write that both triangles are similar
Mean of two numbers
x Squared = a*b
When (x + #) is squared it will be a binomial * a binomial
Solve it by factoring
