Amount of $ a government owes.
What did Alexander Hamilton want to do with state debts after the war?
Combine them so that the states could pay an equal amount
What area in America was against his plan and why did they feel this way?
The south because they didn’t owe as much as the northern states.
Why did the South agree to accept Hamilton’s plan to lessen the national debt?
They told the south they would move the Capitol building to the southern states.
Why did Hamilton feel that it was ok for him to create a national bank?
He said it fell within the constitution.
What is a tariff?
A tax on imported goods.

A civil uprising against the taxing power of the government

He didn’t want to be like a king.
