Tint:
toward white, or lighter than the pure hue
shade:
toward black, or darker than pure hue
intensity:
the brightness of dullness of a color
neutrals:
black, white, grey, beige
color wheel:
- used to show hues
- how they are related to each other
- how they can be created by mixing dyes or paints together.
color schemes:
ways that colors can effectively be used together
silhouette:
is shape, or overall form or outline of an outfit
Line:
a distinct, elongated mark as if drawn by a pen
decorative lines:
applied lines created by adding details to the surface of clothing
Structural lines:
formed when garments are constructed, such as at the seams. darts, pleats, tucks, and edges.
texture:
the tactile quality of goods
balance:
products equality among the parts of a design or outfit
proportion:
the spatial or size, relationship of all the parts in a design to each other and to the whole.
Emphasis:
a concentration of interest in a particular part or area of a design.
Rhythm:
is the pleasing arrangement of the design elements to produce a feeling of continuity or easy movement of the observer’s eye.
