Define Average Speed:
A
The distance travelled divided by time taken

What is the rate?
A
It is how fast an event happens, e.g. the speed of a reaction

What is velocity?
A
a measure of rate of change in position. Unlike speed, it has a direction as well as a magnitude

What is the magnitude?
A
size. Also a measure of the brightness of a star.

What is a ticker timer?
A
Records motion
- vibrations arm strikes it’s base 50x every second
- a black dot is left on paper 50x every second - a black dot is made very 5ieth of a second
When working out ticker timers you need to count 5 intervals, find the distance of the intervals and divide 0.1. Then use total distance of the answer to get average speed.
