Chapter 8 - Forces and Newton's Laws Flashcards
1
Q
What is the equation for tension, given that an object is in equilibrium?
A
T - W = 0, where T is tension force, and W is the weight (force).
2
Q
How do you find the resultant force/acceleration? And how do you calculate the magnitude of this?
A
The resultant force/acceleration is the sum of the vertical and horizontal vectors.
The magnitude of this is √(i² + j²)
