Baptism
- God the father, the son and the Holy Spirit ‘ make a home’. In the baptised person
- Original sin is taken away
- The baptised person becomes member of a god’s special family, the Church
Confirmation
- The Holy Spirit strengthens the graces received at baptism
- The confirmed person receives spiritual gifts that help them to live as Jesus taught
Eucharist
Jesus is made present to the people of god through:
- the word of God (Scripture)
- people gathered
- the priest
- the body and blood of Jesus
Penance
Reconciliation
- god forgives sins
- Jesus restores peoples’ relationships with God and others
Anointing of the Sick
-Jesus strengthens people who are sick, or who are frail or elderly
Marriage
-a union blessed by God where a husband and a wife join together to serve one another and their family in life and lov
The First Commandement
I am the LORD your God: You shall not have strange Gods before me. -pray -adore God -worship
The Second Commandement
You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain
- use God’s name properly
- not use God’s name in inappropriate ways
The Third Commandement
Remember to keep holy the LORD’s day.
- join in the celebrations of the Mass as best they can
- keep Sundays as a day of prayer and rest from work
The Fourth Commandement
Honour your Father and your mother.
- obey and respect their parents
- obey and respect those in whose care their parents place them
The Fifth Commandment
You shall not kill.
- look after their body’s needs
- care for the health of others
- respect all human life including their own
The Sixth Commandement
You shall not commit adultery.
- treat themselves and all people with dignity and respect
- be faithful to baptismal promises and resist temptations
- be faithful to the promises of marriage
The Eighth Commandment
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour.
- tell the truth always and not intentionally deceive another person by saying what is not true
- respect the dignity of each person
- not gossip or bully others
The Seventh Commandment
You shall not steal
- respect the property of others
- take care of things they own
- be responsible for the sharing of the resources of the earth
The Ninth Commandment
You shall not covet your neighbour’s wife.
- view ask the people with the same dignity and human life as a gift from God that needs to be respected ,defended and protected
- not treat people as objects
- respect their sexuality
