Distribution of Sample Means
The set of M’s for all the possible random samples for a specific sample size (n) that can be obtained from a specific population
Central Limit Theorem
The parameters of the distribution of sample means are 1.) Shape, 2.) Central Tendency, and 3.) Variability
Standard Error
How much error to expect if using a sample mean to represent a population mean
Sampling Distribution
A distribution of statistics obtained by selecting all the
possible samples of a specific size from a population
Expected Value of M
The mean of the distribution of sample means is equal to the mean of the population of scores.
Standard Error of M
A measure of how much distance is expected on average between the sample mean and the population mean.
Law of Large Numbers
The larger the sample size (n), the more probable it is that the sample mean will be close to the population mean
