Explain the differences between theme and motif
A
Theme is elements of discourse not of the story, Motif is object, image, sound, or phrase that is repeated throughout a story to point toward the story’s larger theme

What are some common themes that are presented in novels and short stories? Why?

Love, Friendship, Coming of age, Identity, Courage……… It is a way to connect the story to real life.
