Aggressive
Overly forceful, pushy, or hostile.
Passive
Unwilling or unable to express thoughts and feelings in a direct or firm manner.
Assertive
Expressing your views clearly and respectfully.

A statement that focuses on your feelings rather than on someone else’s behavior.
Active listening
Paying close attention to what someone is saying and communicating.

Nonverbal communication through gestures, facial expressions, behaviors, and posture.

Two parents and one or more children living in the same space.
Blended family
A married couple and their children from previous marriages.

Positive feedback that helps others feel appreciated and supported.

A friendship with a member of the opposite gender in which there is affection but the two people are not considered a couple.
Clique
A small circle of friends, usually with similar backgrounds or tastes, who exclude people viewed as outsiders.
