Q

Percentage composition

A

The percentage composition of a compound can be calculated from the chemical formula of the compound by comparing the mass of each element present in 1 mole of the compound to the total mass of 1 mole of the compound.
Formula for compound AiBz:
%A in compound = i x relative atomic mass of A x100
relative formula mass of compound

%B in compound = z x relative atomic mass of B x100
relative formula mass of compound

Q

Explain the mole

A

One mole is the amount of a substance that contains the same number of particles as there are atoms in 12 grams of carbon.
