A

OPEC was established to take joint action to demand higher profits from oil by making up the 13 countries that produce oil. It ensures an efficient, regular, and economical oil supply. OPEC producers control 40% of all oil produced; Saudi Arabia and Russia are the most influential members as they are significant producers.

What was the goal of the 1973 Arab-Israeli war?

A

Egypt’s original objective was to seize a foothold on the eastern bank of the Suez Canal and subsequently leverage these gains to negotiate the return of the Sinai Peninsula and other Israeli-occupied territories, an attempt to reverse the Arab losses of 1967. Ultimately Egypt won back the Suez Canal.
