Define Social Media
Any form of media that is used for social interaction.
It is interactive and allows dialogue and information to be exchanged between people through the web.

Information sharing: allows people around the world to share photos, videos, music and experiences.
Interoperability: the ability of hardware or software from different sources to share data and information.
User-centered design: a term used to describe a communication interface system that focuses on the user.
Name and describe 5 social media applications
Blogs:comes from the phrase web-log. A blog is like a personal journal.
Folksonomies: also known as tagging , allows a consumer to organize online conetent.
Hosted services: provides a service via the internet.
Mashup: a mixture of web applications, when two or more media’s are combined. Eg. YouTube video on a blog website.
Social networking sites: a website that allows you to create a personal profile.

Twitter- connect through sending tweet.
YouTube- share, upload and view videos
Flickr- share photos (anyone can access)
Facebook- worlds most user SNS. Join groups, add friends, exchange messages.

What does an online forum do?
Online forums engage users. Online forums are a great way to gain advice, ask questions and use the experiences of others to influence your own desicons.
What is Ease of communication?
Communication between the user and the organization. This creates RETENTION. Use. “Contact us” section
Why is reliability nessacary for client retention on social media sites?
The platform needs to be vigorously tested to ensure is it reliable for users.
