Chapter 6 REVIEW Series and Parallel Connections with Modules Flashcards
Series connections
Series connections are made between the positive wire of one module and the negative wire of anothers, voltage is additive while current remains the same.
Parallel connections
Parallel connections are made between wires with the same polarity (positive or negative), which causes current to be additive while voltage remain the same.
PV output circuits
PV output circuits are formed when PV source circuit conductors are combined in parallel; typically they run between a combiner box and an inverter or charge controller.
PV source circuits
PV source circuits are one or more modules wired in series; the number of modules depends on the required voltage.
Homeruns
Homeruns are the conductors from the positive and negative leads of a PV source circuit.
