body plane: midsagital (median or midline)
passes from the bottom through the center of the body and divides in into equal right and left sides
body plane: frontal (coronal)
divides the body from top to bottom through the center and divides in into front and back portions

divides the body horizontally (crosswise) into top and bottom portions
