What is oral tradition?
Some of our evidence from Jesus comes from oral tradition. It is something that is passed by one person to another from word of mouth.
What is written tradition?
Sources like the bible, historical documents and the four gospel writers that gives us evidence about Jesus.
What are the gospels?
The four Gospel writers are Mark, John, Matthew and Luke. They wrote about Jesus mainly of:
The events that took place in his lifetime
The disciples preaching about Jesus
The writing down of the Gospels.
What are the evangelists?
They are the four Gospel writers. An Evangelist is someone who spreads the good news about Jesus.
What is witness?
A person who is present at the time an event took place.
What is synoptic?
It means describing events from a similar point of view. The Gospels are synoptic.
