Seats are awarded based on the proportion of the vote that they won.

Voters vote for the party and the party provides a ranked list.

Voters vote for individual candidates.
Open List Proportional Party
Combine Single-member and proportional systems and have two ballots. One for individuals and one for the party.
Mixed System
Recurring patterns of party behavior that results from the competition.
Party Systems
Multiple parties exist, one always wins.
Dominant Party Systems
Only two parties ever win political power.
Two-Party System
Multiple parties exist, and three or more win political power.
