measurement instruments that assess the respondent’s skill, ability and performance.
factor analysis
identifies the factors that explain the variety of results on different tests.
consequential validity
the approximate truth or falsity of assertions related to the intended or unintended consequences of test interpretations and use.
item analysis
systematic analysis of items on a scale or test undertaken to determine the properties of items, especially for purposes of selecting final items or deciding which items to combine.
standardised testing
used to attempt to control factors that are irrelevant to the construct being measured, and to gather evidence of validity.
test fairness
everyone who takes the test should have the same chance of demonstrating his or her ability, knowledge or aptitude.
