Side of the polygon
The common endpoint of two sides.
Vertex of the polygon
A segment that connects any two nonconsecutive vertices.
Diagonal
One that is both equilateral and equiangular.
Regular polygon
Any part of a diagonal that contains points in the exterior of the polgyon.
Concave
If no diagonal contains points in the exterior.
Convex
A quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides.
Parallelogram
A quadrilateral with four right angles.
Rectangle
A quadrilateral with four congruent sides.
Rhombus
A quadrilateral with four right angles and four congruent sides.
Square
A quadrilateral with exactly two pairs of congruent consecutive sides.
Kite
A quadrilateral with exactly one pair of parallel sides.
Trapezoid
Each of the parallel sides.
Base
The nonparallel sides.
Legs
Two consecutive angles whose common side is a base.
